Welcome to our newest team members
The new year is always a busy time in the WLF office as we welcome the new starters joining us through our Graduate and Undergraduate Accountant Programs. This year we are delighted to have seven new faces around the office:
- Dylan Bassett, Poppy Nicol and Zara Millwood have all joined the Business and Personal Advisory division
- James Wright and James Webb are our newest auditors in the Audit, Assurance and Advisory division
- Zoe Bloomfield has also joined the Audit, Assurance and Advisory division, taking up the new role of Group Executive Administrator, and
- Candace Huber has recently commenced as Human Resources Manager for the firm.
“There is always an extra buzz around the office when we have our new graduate and undergraduate team members starting,” says WLF HR Partner Alicia Leis. “They generally have a short first week to focus on induction and getting settled, and then it’s all system go from week two.”
“Our team members have the opportunity to work on client files from the start, always supported and guided by their Manager or Partner of course.”
“And because we have an intake of four to six graduates a year there are always colleagues close by who have been through the same experience recently, ready for a friendly chat or some advice.”
Alicia believes the Undergraduate and Graduate Accountant Programs are both key elements in keeping the firm contemporary with a fresh outlook, “New people bring a fresh perspective, and this keeps us all on our toes! We want to continue to attract the best and brightest graduates to WLF, so we know we have to continue to provide a great work environment, quality systems and technology and the most engaging career opportunities.”
The WLF Graduate Accountant Program for our February 2023 intake is open for applications from 21 February 2022, which is the start of the UTAS year and as always we will be working closely with the university to encourage applications from their final year accounting students.
