Tasmanian award winners celebrating at the national gala dinner: Penny Terry, Bernadette Black, Alicia Leis, Kirsten Connan and Melody Towns

In October we celebrated as WLF Partner Alicia Leis was recognised as the winner of the Corporate and Private Award in the prestigious Telstra Business Women’s Awards for Tasmania.

Alicia was nominated for the Awards by Donna Adams, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management, for her outstanding leadership and contribution to her clients through risk management, governance and advisory services.

A month later, Alicia joined four other inspiring Tasmanian business women for a national workshop and gala dinner in Melbourne, celebrating the achievements of category winners from around the country and also announcing the overall winners.

Alicia was delighted with her success, and reflects on how the process of the Awards was just as important and satisfying as taking home the title.

“Through this process I have learned a lot about myself, and also had the chance to form connections with some wonderful women from all industries around Australia.”

“I firmly believe Tasmanian businesses must foster and support the talent we have here in this state. Everyone I met through the Awards has shown a great commitment to doing this, and I am proud and honoured to have been recognised with such amazing women.”

WLF congratulates all the Tasmanian Telstra Business Women’s Award winners.
