Joanne Curran

Joanne’s professional expertise spans across a broad range of industries in the public, commercial and not-for-profit sectors.

Joanne initially built a successful career of more than twenty years in corporate and commercial banking interstate, before choosing to return home to Tasmania to raise her family. She moved into a career in consultancy, specialising in the areas of people development, risk management, strategy and facilitation.

Joanne is passionate about working with clients to add value to their organisation. Her focus is on understanding the need and specific nuances of the business in order to deliver a quality outcome. She has also held the role of CEO for a medium-sized Tasmanian business, which involved management of nearly 100 staff and contractors across five sites, operating in a highly regulated industry.

Over recent years while undertaking her own consultancy work, Joanne has been a key consultant for the Australian Insitute of Management (AIM) and Swinburne Professional.

Joanne has also been actively involved in many community groups and not-for-profit oranisations including a committee for local neighbourhood houses, Secretary and Chair of School Associations, Treasurer for a tennis club and involved in junior rowing. Following the devasting 2013 Dunally fire, Joanne was the community representative on the Sorell Tasman Affected Area Recovery Committee.
