Border Closure Critical Support Grant Program – Round Two

Posted on November 12th, 2021 by WLF

The State Government has announced a second round of the critical support grant for businesses impacted by lockdowns and border restrictions in other states.

Applications opened on 10 November 2021 at 10am and close 25 November 2021 at 2pm.

Please note: If you have received an email to apply for round two due to your successful application for round one, you do not need to submit a fresh application. You should have received a supplementary form to be completed.

Eligibility criteria – applicants who didn’t apply for round one:

  1. Be an active Tasmanian business with a minimum annual turnover of $25,000 (excluding GST) and be able to demonstrate being directly impacted by lockdowns in other states and current border closures from Saturday 26 June.
  2. Be registered for tax purposes in Australia and have a continuously active ABN since on or before 1 May 2021.
  3. Have suffered a 30% reduction in turnover as a direct result of lockdowns in other states and current border closures from 26 June 2021.
  4. Be registered (if required) and actively using the Check in TAS App, or register at the time of submitting an application.

Supporting evidence will be required to demonstrate the reduction – this may be records from accounting software or an accountant or the business’ own records that would be used to support preparation of BAS or income tax returns. The records should detail income for the period and any impact of cancellations (e.g. refunds).
