Celebrating the Career of Douglas Thomson

After more than four decades with WLF Accounting & Advisory, today we farewell Douglas Thomson and recognise an exceptional career defined by dedication, expertise, and leadership.
Douglas joined WLF on 12 February 1979, beginning a journey that would see him play a significant role in the firm’s growth and evolution. Over this time, the accounting profession has undergone considerable change from manual processes to modern digital systems, and an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Throughout it all, Douglas has remained a steady and trusted presence for both clients and colleagues.
Douglas is widely recognised for his expertise in Superannuation and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs), where he has developed into a respected leader within the firm. His depth of knowledge, thoughtful approach, and commitment to delivering high-quality advice have made him a valued adviser to many.
Beyond his technical contribution, Douglas has had a lasting impact through his support and mentorship of staff. He has generously shared his knowledge and experience, helping to guide and develop the next generation of professionals at WLF.
Douglas’ career is a reflection of professionalism, consistency, and care which are qualities that have left a lasting imprint on the firm and the people within it.
As he steps into retirement, we thank Douglas for his many years of service and the contribution he has made to WLF. We wish him all the very best for the next chapter.
